Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) strongly condemns the violent incursion by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) into the emergency room of Bashair Teaching Hospital in South Khartoum on 18 December. The attackers fired weapons inside the emergency ward, directly threatened medical staff, and severely disrupted lifesaving care. MSF urgently calls on RSF to respect the neutrality of medical facilities and the safety of healthcare workers.

Amid continued attacks, siege, and blockade, Israel is destroying conditions of life in Gaza.

MSF condemns in the strongest terms the killing of at least two patients who were executed after an MSF ambulance was stopped by members of a vigilante group and law enforcement officers. 

We are extremely alarmed by the detention of our colleague, Dr Mohammed Obeid, an MSF orthopaedic surgeon. He has been detained by Israeli forces along with several medical staff from Kamal Adwan hospital in north Gaza.

The ban represents a devastating blow to Palestinian life and an inhumane ban on vital humanitarian aid. Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) denounces this legislation. 

Our colleague Hasan Suboh was killed last week when the building where he was staying with his relatives in Khan Younis, South Gaza, was attacked. According to the Ministry of Health, at least 33 people were killed in this attack, including 14 children.

Today, the international medical humanitarian organisation Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF), alongside other global health activists, health care implementers and civil society organisations in the ‘Time for $5’ coalition, delivered a petition signed by 206,937 people from 194 countries to US corporation Danaher at its global headquarters in Washington, DC.

As Israeli attacks intensify in Lebanon, healthcare facilities are being forced to close, leading to devastating consequences for civilians and their access to healthcare. MSF urges all warring parties to spare civilians, medical facilities, and medical personnel.

For almost a full year now, Israel has carried out unmitigated slaughter in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. Since the atrocities committed by Hamas on 7 October 2023, Israeli forces have pursued an all-out war on people in the Gaza Strip. People have been repeatedly displaced and forced into smaller and smaller areas under bombardments and increasingly inhumane conditions.
