Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is devastated to report the death of Bilal Okal, our colleague killed by Israeli forces in Jabalia, North Gaza, along with 10 of his family members. Bilal is the ninth MSF team member to be killed in Gaza since the escalation on 7 October 2023.

Gaza ceasefire

The temporary ceasefire agreement in Gaza is a relief, but it arrives more than 465 days and 46,000 lives too late. Humanitarian needs have mounted to catastrophic levels.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) strongly condemns the violent incursion by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) into the emergency room of Bashair Teaching Hospital in South Khartoum on 18 December. The attackers fired weapons inside the emergency ward, directly threatened medical staff, and severely disrupted lifesaving care. MSF urgently calls on RSF to respect the neutrality of medical facilities and the safety of healthcare workers.

The ban represents a devastating blow to Palestinian life and an inhumane ban on vital humanitarian aid. Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) denounces this legislation.
