Supply Chain Managers

The supply chain manager is responsible for the program's logistics supply chain in its entirety: analysing prices, quality control, placing orders with local and international suppliers, monitoring deliveries of supplies and equipment, managing relations with freight forwarders and customs clearance procedures, stock management, organising procurement for the project and tracking consumption.            

ACTIVITIES

  • Management of the supply chain required by the project: stock management, local and international procurement, monitoring and warehousing deliveries of supplies and equipment, procurement.
  • Supervising and training logistics teams and locally employed and/or international personnel.
  • Providing logistical support to medical teams.
  • Working with medical teams and project coordinators to define operational strategies and logistical objectives of a project.
  • Administrative responsibilities associated with the above tasks including tendering, contracts, evaluations.

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Compliance with the essential criteria for all potential candidates.
  • Certificate/diploma or higher in logistics/transport, procurement, supply chain management, management, international business administration or a related discipline with a specialisation in logistics/supply chain.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a logistics/supply chain role with responsibilities in one or more of the following domains: procurement, supply chain including cold chain, warehousing, transport, customs (import/export), demand planning and inventory management, supply information systems, supply processes synchronisation.
  • Professional experience in people management, supervision and administration.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (in particular excel, word).
  • Available for assignment for a minimum of nine months or longer.

DESIRABLE

  • Previous professional experience in supply in an NGO and/or in the humanitarian supply chain is an asset.
