Activities
- Work collaboratively with the medical departments, logistics, finance and administration teams
- Define, plan and organise the set up, sizing and budget for the hospital in order to efficiently maintain the continuity of quality of healthcare
- Coordinate and supervise the implementation of the healthcare protocols, procedures and standards
- Assess all departments and provide technical support for medical doctors, to ensure the quality of medical activities and that protocols, security and asepsis rules are followed
- Plan and supervise the human resources processes including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal communication, of the medical departments
- Manage data including patient files, forms, statistics, and databases, and provide meaningful anaylsis and interpretation to report on activities
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
- Compliance with the essential criteria for all potential candidates
- Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators or experience as hospital director
- Minimum two years experience managing a hospital or large health facility
- Experience working with MSF or other NGO’s in low and middle income countries
- Available for assignment for a minimum of 12 months or longer
- Willingness to abide by Médecins Sans Frontières medical protocols
DESIRABLE
- No recent gap in experience greater than two years (current practicising certificate preferred)
- Work experience or study in tropical medicine, refugee health or international public health
