On Friday 8 September, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake, Morocco’s deadliest in more than six decades, struck the country’s High Atlas Mountains, leaving thousands dead and injured. The numbers are expected to rise as local rescuers try to save those buried under the rubble, particularly in remote villages that were affected.
