Six years ago, almost one million Rohingya people fled their homes in Myanmar.
Today, the Rohingya in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, still remain in temporary shelters with restricted access to necessities. Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) started working with the Rohingya 30 years ago and is now the largest provider of healthcare for Rohingya refugees.
MSF’s main focus is:
- Providing emergency and intensive care, paediatrics, obstetrics, sexual and reproductive healthcare and mental healthcare
- Treating scabies outbreaks and non-communicable diseases (NCDs)
- Caring for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence
- Providing safe drinking water and sanitation facilities
