After more than two years of high-intensity war, the people of Yemen are now facing another battle – a huge cholera outbreak that has affected more than 500,000 people.
The Saudi-led coalition’s recent decision to tighten Yemen’s borders to humanitarian aid will only make an unbearable situation immeasurably worse. This drastic act has placed a stranglehold on the few organisations still providing assistance in the country.
Médecins Sans Frontières has dramatically scaled up its medical response in Yemen. Our medical teams are carrying out emergency surgery for war-wounded, providing maternity and newborn healthcare, and responding to the unprecedented cholera outbreak.
Our work in Yemen and the over 70 countries where we work would not be possible without the generous support of our donors.
