02 Jun 2022

Medical team leader Jessa Pontevedra, a nurse from Hamilton, speaks to TV NZ Breakfast's Indira Stewart about her time working as part of Medecins Sans Frontieres' medical response to the Ukraine emergency.

Jessa has helped to set up two projects including one project providing essential health care to people on the move particularly mental health, continuation of medications and health passports as people move from areas of conflict towards the west and eventually other countries in Europe. The other project involves providing primary health care including emergency medical services to support the continued functioning of health services in the Donbas areas to the communities who have remained.
