As a valued supporter of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), we invite you to our special Pass the Mic webinar to mark 50 years of MSF, at 3pm to 4pm NZDT on Wednesday 3 November 2021.

On the day Isaac Chesters, an Australia-based Finance/HR Manager with MSF, will be passing the mic to his colleague Mohammad Abu Taher, joining us from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Taher will share his experience working with MSF, including as Project Coordinator Support in our primary healthcare project in Dhaka, with Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, and with the search and rescue team in the Mediterranean.

This is an incredible opportunity to hear about MSF’s work first-hand from a locally-hired staff member, who make up 90 per cent of our workforce. We look forward to thanking you for your invaluable support as we mark 50 years of humanity through medical humanitarian action.

Our Speakers

Taher is currently Project Coordinator Support with MSF in our Kamrangirchar primary healthcare project in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

He started his career with MSF in Bangladesh 10 years ago, and since then has worked across several aspects of MSF’s care including nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, sexual and gender-based violence, occupational health and migration.

He has worked within two of the most pressing global humanitarian crises: the displacement of the Rohingya in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, and migration across the Mediterranean into Europe, with MSF’s search and rescue team.

As well as his work as a humanitarian professional, Taher is also an active participant in MSF associative life. In his personal time, he enjoys travelling in Bangladesh and overseas.

Isaac has been working with MSF since 2019. He has worked as Field Departures Coordinator in the MSF Australia office in Sydney, and more recently as Finance and HR Manager in the Kamrangirchar primary healthcare project in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Isaac is from the Gold Coast in Queensland and is currently completing a Master of Laws before heading back overseas with MSF in early 2022: he is hoping to work in a French-speaking context after brushing up on his language skills.

Isaac is looking forward to building a long career with MSF, both in Australia and overseas.
